Comcast/NBCUniversal has partnered with UNCF to fund the Comcast NBCUniversal/UNCF scholarship program for sophomores and juniors attending an HBCU during the fall of 2020. Candidates can major in any field of study but must have a desired interest in entertainment and media.
Student applicants for this program must be:
- college sophomores (Class of 2023); or
- college juniors (Class of 2022)
-full time enrollment at any HBCU
-cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 or higher
NOTE: Students will be using their classification (either college freshman or sophomores) during the 2019-2020 academic year for application consideration.
Completed application packages include: transcript (unofficial will be accepted), essay, and one letter of recommendation from a faculty member, employer or other community member familiar with your academic performance.
Please Note the Following Guidelines on "How to Invite Reference/Recommender?"
One letter of recommendation is required for a complete application. The recommender must not be related to you. The recommendation form must be submitted before or by the deadline.
In order to give your recommender the maximum amount of time to submit his/her recommendation, you should enter all information for your recommender (name and e-mail) as early as possible. This Application System will remind you to "Invite References" until your recommender has been invited. This generates an e-mail to your recommender notifying him/her of your application and request for his/her recommendation. For assistance with reference, please see the attached supporting document to the right.
Scholarships will be disbursed in early fall for the 2020-2021 academic year.
Recipients who have received this award in the past must re-apply for full consideration.
