Have you ever considered being a web developer? Are you a recent college graduate?

American Express has an immediate need for skilled web developers and will train persons interested in this industry.  The following provides info on how you can receive free training to take advantage of this exclusive career opportunity. No technical experience required.

Diverse candidates are invited to apply for a place in the American Express Developer Academy. This highly coveted program offers vital technology training, powered by General Assembly, ultimately leading to a role as a junior full-stack engineer within American Express.

This is a unique opportunity that invites non-Computer Science majors to launch a career in engineering. Even if you have never written a line of code but have a passion for technology and are motivated to learn, we encourage you to apply!

If accepted, you will dive into 12 weeks of full-time learning that covers a breadth of web development skills enabling you to build full-stack web applications in addition to honing presentation, stakeholder management and interviewing skills.

This program is fully sponsored by American Express and upon meeting graduation requirements, you will be fast-tracked to interview for a highly sought-after role as a junior engineer within their technology team.

  • Program dates are August 19th to November 8th, 2019
  • In person training location is General Assembly’s New York City campus at 10 E 21st St
  • This is a full-time 12-week commitment with class running 9-5pm, M-F

  • Candidates will take a guided coding challenge and sit for an admissions interview before being enrolled in the program.
  • Enrolled students will be required to complete 30-40 hours of online pre-work prior to class.
  • Students will be required to complete homework outside of class time.
  • There are no prerequisites other than a genuine desire to learn and pursue a career in software engineering. This program is open to graduates of non-CS degrees.
  • This is a free program that is fully sponsored by American Express.
  • Persons interested will be required to attend the in-person training offered in New York City.
