Mrs. Joann Bashinsky Scholarship

Landon E. Ash is providing four (4) year, need-based scholarships to two (2) freshman students planning to attend Morehouse College during the 2022-2023 school year.

The Mrs. Joann Bashinsky Scholarship program awards up to $27,500.00 to each student, each year, for 4-years, if the selected recipient meets the renewal requirements.

Selection Criteria:

- Be an entering freshman who has been admitted and will be enrolled full-time during the 2022-2023 school year at Morehouse College   

- Reside or be a permanent resident of the state of Alabama

- Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (“FAFSA”) form

- Have a demonstrated, unmet financial need as verified by Morehouse College

- Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 grade point average

Application requirements:

- Submit a completed online application 

- Submit a 1-page personal statement responding to the following prompt: “Please discuss how receiving this scholarship will have an impact on your ability to attend Morehouse College. Also, please share how you will use your education to positively impact other.” 

- Submit a

          * current academic transcript (unofficial or official)

          * a Morehouse College letter of admission

          * a financial aid award letter from Morehouse College 

To renew the scholarship, you must:

- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale

- Continue to be enrolled full-time in good personal and academic standing

- Annually complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (“FAFSA”) form annually 

- Demonstrate unmet financial need as verified by Morehouse College
