The Geraldine Matilda Hill Williams Scholarship was created in honor of Geraldine Hill Williams of Brooklyn, New York. Mrs. Williams was a community leader as PTA President in the Red Hook Houses and worked with then Senator Robert F. Kennedy's wife Ethel to replace Public School 30 with Public School 15. Mrs. Williams served as a social worker for Child Welfare for 30 years when she retired in 1995. She was also a supporter of her alma mater Bennett College, where she received several awards and served as New York City Chapter President for years.
The Geraldine Matilda Hill Williams Scholarship is open to rising juniors attending Bennett College. It will be awarded for the 2020-2021 academic year. This renewable need-based scholarship is up to $5,000 for two years to the selected scholar.
