Program Description

GlaxoSmithKline is a world leading research based pharmaceutical company based in UK with a powerful combination of skills and resources that provides a platform for delivering strong growth in today's rapidly changing health care environment. It is GlaxoSmithKline's quest to improve the quality of human life by enabling people to do more, feel better and live longer. With this intent in mind, GlaxoSmithKline partnered with UNCF to establish the GlaxoSmithKline Science Achievement Award.

Eligibility Criteria

GlaxoSmithKline Science Achievement Award provides scholarships awards to graduate students. Students assisted by the scholarships must be US citizens and:

  • Maintain a current cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better;
  • Currently enrolled at a graduate school (Masters or Doctoral); pursuing a degree in organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, Chemistry, pharmacology, molecular genetics, microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or biology.

*Students who are healthcare providers, including physicians, medical interns and nurses are not eligible for the GSK Science Achievement Award.

Selected students will receive up to $6000 awards. Scholarship awards will be made in spring 2017 and scholarship electronic wire transfer will be sent to the students' attending institutions for credit
