In partnering with UNCF, The UNCF 3M. Applied to Life. Scholarship Program was established to provide need-based scholarship support to underrepresented high school seniors (Class of 2021) and current first-year college students (Class of 2020) from St. Paul Public Schools and Charter Schools serving St. Paul students pursuing STEM careers, attending public and private historically Black colleges and universities or Florida International University. For renewal, students must continue to meet the specified criteria.
In addition to renewable scholarship assistance, The UNCF 3M. Applied to Life, Scholarship Program includes the following:
*Dedicated UNCF College Success Coach.
*An annual Scholars event convening during the summer months at 3M Headquarters.
*Access to a 3M Scholars Online Learning Community.
The application is now open for the 2021-22 academic year and students will be awarded in the Fall Term of 2021. Applicants for the program must meet the following requirements:
*Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
*Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.
*Have a demonstrated, unmet financial need as verified by your college or university.
*Be planning to enroll full-time or already enrolled at an accredited HBCU or Florida International University in the fall of 2021.
*Be interested in pursuing or already pursuing a STEM degree.
For consideration, applications must be submitted online and include the following:
1. A current transcript (unofficial can be submitted)
2. An online letter of recommendation from your high school counselor, teacher, college professor, or community leader (letters from family members and friends are unacceptable). Please use the recommendation instructions located to the right for further assistance.
3. A resume
4. Respond to the essay prompt regarding STEM career goals/interests
Preference will be given to students attending the following colleges/universities:
Florida A&M University, Howard University, Norfolk State University, North Carolina A&T University, Prairie View A&M University, Tuskegee University, Xavier University.
