Internship Eligibility Requirements

- Possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.

- Currently a junior or senior at a 4- year accredited college/university during the application and interview process.  

- Major in business, business (sales interest), communications, marketing, healthcare management, health policy, economics, finance, accounting, supply chain management, computer science, information technology, analytics or an associated major listed in the program eligiblity requirements to the right of this section.

- Skilled at working collaboratively, developing creative solutions, and ccomplishing team goals.

- Proficient in Microsoft Windows software applications (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, and Outlook).

- Motivated and willing to learn with strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills

Students selected for the internship will be required to participate in the UNCF Student Leadership Conference to be held in late May 2021. i The UNCF Student Leadership Conference is a 3-day professional development training designed to support interns in having a successful internship experience and becoming high performing career professionals. It is anticipated that the conference will be virtual in 2021.  However, if an in-person conference is possible, travel and accomodations are covered by the program.

 

About Anthem Foundation

The Anthem Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Anthem, Inc. and through charitable contributions and programs, the Foundation promotes the inherent commitment of Anthem, Inc. to enhance the health and well-being of individuals and families in communities that Anthem, Inc. and its affiliated health plans serve. The Foundation focuses its funding on strategic initiatives that address and provide innovative solutions to health care challenges, as well as promoting the Healthy Generations Program, a multi-generational initiative that targets specific disease states and medical conditions. These disease states and medical conditions include: prenatal care in the first trimester, low birth weight babies, cardiac morbidity rates, long term activities that decrease obesity and increase physical activity, diabetes prevalence in adult populations, adult pneumococcal and influenza vaccinations and smoking cessation. The Foundation also coordinates the company’s year-round Associate Giving program which provides a 50 percent match of associates’ campaign pledges, as well as its Volunteer Time Off and Dollars for Doers community service programs.
