Mejuri is a fine jewelry company established in 2015 by Noura Sakkijha, redefining the way women purchase jewelry—for themselves. Mejuri pieces are handcrafted, ethically sourced, and made to last.


In support of the educational goals of female and non-binary students of African descent, Mejuri is proud to launch the Mejuri Scholarship Program. The program will provide 10 (ten) USD $5,000.00 need-based scholarships to selected female or non-binary students of African descent, attending two, three, or four-year accredited. nonprofit degree-granting colleges and universities of their choice in the U.S. or in Canada.


Applicants for the Program must meet the following criteria:

i.    Be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S. or Canada.

ii.    U.S. students must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (“FAFSA”) form and Canadian students must complete an application for Provincial Grants, Bursaries and Student Loans with their province or territory.

iii.    Have a demonstrated, unmet financial need as verified by their college or university for U.S. students or by their regional financial aid organization for Canadian students.

 iv.    Be a female or non-binary student of Black African descent who has been accepted and enrolled to attend at any UNCF member institution, other HBCU, or an accredited two, three or four-year institution in the U.S. or Canada.

v.    Provide permission for the Grantor to have the right to meet the recipient in person or online, and to post the recipient’s name, photograph, city of residence, profile and essay (or excerpts thereof) on its website and social media and to generate publicity relating to the recipient.
