The Jack and Jill of America Foundation is committed to the positive development of African American youth as future leaders. Through providing programs focused on financial literacy, education, mentoring, health and wellness, and early childhood development, the Foundation promotes the preparation of succeeding generations of African American leaders.
Developed in partnership with UNCF, the Jack and Jill of America Foundation Scholarship program was created to provide need-based scholarships to African American rising college freshmen who have completed 60 hours of active community service during the current academic year. Required service hours have not been changed or waived. Applicants who continue to meet eligibility requirements may be invited to renew this scholarship for their sophomore through senior years of college.
- Be African American and a US citizen or permanent resident.
- Be currently classified as a graduating high school senior.
- Be enrolled full-time for the fall 2021 semester at any accredited 4-year college or university.
- Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Have completed a minimum of 60 hours of volunteer work and/or community service from June 2020 - June 2021.
- Have completed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) and have a demonstrated unmet financial need as verified by the applicant's institution.
Application Must Include:
- An official or unofficial current academic transcript.
- A 1-page essay (see application for details).
- A signed and completed Community Service Verification Form (located on the right side of this page). Applicants who do not use the provided form will not be considered for this award.
