Parkview Health Corporate Scholars Program was established by Parkview Health and the United Negro College Fund to provide five (5) renewable scholarships to students of color who reside in Fort Wayne, Indiana and preferably have an interest in pursuing a career within Healthcare Management. 

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants for the Parkview Health Corporate Scholars Program must;

  1. Be a member of an underrepresented minority who is a resident of Fort Wayne, Indiana;
  2. Be currently high school seniors or high school graduates who are planning to enroll or enrolled as a first year student at any UNCF member institution, other HBCU, or any other accredited four-year institution beginning Fall 2017;
  3. Maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale;
  4. Plan to major in accounting, human resources, organizational leadership  and  development, sales, business, economics, marketing,  communication,  finance, Physical  Therapy Assistant/Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant program or degree, Healthcare Administration; 

For award consideration, applicants must submit the online application with a current official high school transcript, a letter of recommendation from a teacher, a one-page personal statement of students' career goals and specifically explaining why they should be considered for the Parkview Health Scholarship; Information about the student's extracurricular activities, community service or leadership programs in which they participate, as well as any honors and/or awards they have received.

Finalists will be required to submit a letter of admission from the college/university they choose to attend as a first year student in the Fall 2017. Selected students will receive $5000 scholarship award for the 2017-2018 academic year. In addition, those students who continue to meet the scholarship criteria in subsequent years, will be renewed at the same level of funding.   Also, the Parkview Health Corporate Scholars Program provides internship opportunities for eligible candidates (sophomores) beginning Fall 2018. The Parkview Health Internship will be a separate competition open to the public.  Students associated with the Parkview Health Corporate Scholars Program are encouraged to apply during this open competition.
