The General Mills Belton Scholars Scholarship Program is named after the recently retired Y. Marc Belton. Marc retired as Executive Vice President, Global Strategy, Growth and Marketing Innovation of General Mills, Inc., an S&P 500 manufacturer and marketer of consumer food products. Marc has been a consistent supporter of UNCF in Minneapolis, through generous personal gifts annually, which were matched by General Mills employee matching gift program.
The General Mills Belton Scholars Program is a renewable, merit based scholarship restricted to Minnesota high school senior males of African American and/or Hispanic descent.
Applicants for the Program must meet the following criteria:
1) students must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale;
2) African American and/or Hispanic male high school seniors who are residents of Minnesota;
3) students must attend a U.S. four-year, accredited college or university.
